DC does its job training primarily through non-profit job training providers. The District funds a group of organizations and then they go out and actually provide the training. Each of those non-profit training providers designates at least one person as a placement coordinator who is tasked with placing program graduates into individual jobs. This is an extremely complex task and we admire the folks who are doing this hard and important work for comparatively low pay. We want to thank Marina Streznewski, who is the executive director of the DC Jobs Council, for allowing us to attend today’s training session. We were impressed with all the attendees, and we hope that we were able to share some information that was helpful.
